Twisted Sister is the American heavy metal band formed in Long Island, New York in 1972.  With Dee Snider on vocals, Jay Jay French (guitar), Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (guitar), Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass), and A.J. Pero (drums).

Twisted Sister rose to fame in the 1980s with their heavy metal sound and over-the-top stage shows. The band's hits include "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock".

In addition to their music, Twisted Sister is also known for their advocacy for freedom of speech and opposition to censorship. Dee Snider famously testified before Congress in 1985 against a proposed "Parental Advisory" label for music with explicit lyrics.
